Answers to some of the questions that are most Frequently Asked.
Should I buy same capacity memory module for my upgrade, or can I mix a different size?
For systems employing SDRAM technology, mixing different sizes is allowed. There are some systems, however, that require modules to be installed in pairs. Typically, these are the ones that have the Dual Channel Mode. Check our Memory Configurator for the right memory configuration applicable to your system.
What is Dual Channel mode?
The dual channel mode was introduced when the DDR memory came about. This technology requires two matching pairs of memory modules to be installed so that that the system runs at optimal performance. In dual channel mode, the effective bandwidth becomes twice the standard size, that is, if you have a Dual Channel PC3200, the peak bandwidth becomes 6.4GB/sec instead of 3.2GB/sec. This is because the two sets of identical memory doubles the data paths that can be used simultaneously allowing data to move faster, minimizing time delays between read/write processes. Before you upgrade, consult your system's specifications to verify if your motherboard supports the dual channel function.

Defining Maxfilecache settings in System.ini file solves this problem..
Please click on Start button and select Run.
Please type: SYSEDIT and click OK.
Please select SYSTEM.INI Window to display its content.
Please find the [vcache] section, add the MinFileCache= and MaxFileCache= lines to it, if [vcache] section does not exist then please create it.
The value for these settings are in kilobytes. For example, if you want to create a 50-MB cache that cannot exceed 55 MB, the lines would be as follows:
[vcache]
MinFileCache=51200
MaxFileCache=56320
Please save new configuration by choosing File menu and clicking Save
Restart your computer

I have purchased UScomtek module and it doesn’t fit into the memory socket
You may be installing the memory module the wrong way. Flip it to the other side so that the notches on the module line with those of the socket. If the module is way too long or too short than the socket, or if notches don't align even after flipping over, then you may have ordered the wrong memory. Please contact our Technical Support for information on how to apply for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization).
I have installed UScomtek memory module and system is seeing only half of the additional memory
Please make sure to update your system BIOS to latest revision available on system manufacturer web site. New BIOS version can normally read higher capacity modules.
Please check UScomtek part number and make sure that you have ordered correct module for you computer.
I have installed UScomtek memory and my system does not boot up anymore

Please turn off the power to your system and try installing UScomtek module in a different socket if more than one socket is available.
Please turn off the power to your system and try installing UScomtek module alone in the system.
If you are installing memory in Desktop or Tower case then please check to make sure that all expansion cards are seated properly and no power connector got loose during memory installation.

How can I condition my new UScomtek battery to maximize its performance and life
Your battery is shipped by UScomtek in a discharged condition and must be charged first time for 12 hours. Your new battery may require 4 to 5 charge/discharge cycles to reach its maximum capacity.
Please make sure to charge and fully discharge the battery al least once every two weeks for maximum performance and long life.
Please do not leave your battery unused for long period of time. Your battery can be damaged if left unused for over two to three months.
If you are planning not to use your battery for 4 to 5 weeks then please store your battery in cool, clean and dry place. Refrigerators can be used for storage but not freezers.
Power management features should be used for Laptop batteries to get maximum performance. Power management can help you save battery power by selecting dimmer screen, lower CPU speed and other low power consumption features.
Please note that you do not extend battery life by not using it. Seldom exercise (charge/discharge cycle) of battery pack shortens its life.
